Aquanis recognized by Providence Business News
Aquanis was named by the Providence Business News as RI's Most Innovative Company in the Energy category for 2019. This did not come as a surprise to the employees, because 2019 was a very important year for the company. Significant 2019 milestones included:
In February, Chris Szlatenyi joined the team as Senior Mechanical Engineer.
In March, we started work on the ARPA-E funded project (Active Load Control for Wind Turbines), which is a three-year effort with $3.5M in non-dilutive funding.
In July, we won a $1M Department of Energy Phase II SBIR grant (Development of a Wind Turbine Blade Coating to Reduce the Damage due to Lightning), a two-year project.
In November, Dr. Pascal Mickelson joined the team as Principal Scientist.
(Aquanis was renamed Arctura in October, 2020. You can learn about the name change and all of the company’s activities on our website.)
